Dear Hanover Community,

We would like to share some weather related resources and information for assistance with the bitter cold expected to blanket our region.

We hope everyone will stay warm and inside to prevent frostbite. Below are helpful resources if you need assistance during these unseasonably cold temperatures.

    • Springs Rescue Mission 5W Las Vegas Street Colorado Springs CO. 80903
      • Springs Rescue Mission offers safe, low-barrier shelter for up to 450 men and women every night: 24 hours a day; 7 days a week; 365 days of the year. 
      • There are no requirements for entry, but your ability to stay will be determined by your behavior. And yes, we will also provide you with a hot breakfast the following morning.

  • Pueblo County
    • Safeside Recovery will be holding an outreach event on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to distribute gear to assist with the cold weather, including hats, socks, shoes and more at 728 W. 4th Street.
    • Pueblo Shelter 728 W. 4th Street and will remain open all hours.
      • With extreme cold set to hit Colorado in the coming days, the Pueblo Shelter is preparing to stay open 24 hours a day, beginning Saturday, Jan. 18 and lasting through Tuesday, Jan. 21, to ensure no one is left outside during the coldest predicted temperatures of the winter so far.
      • The shelter will also be providing two meals every day from Saturday through Tuesday, including a sack lunch and a daily meal at 4:30 p.m. The city of Pueblo said the addition of a lunch, provided by Oasis Church, aims to assist with the influx of individuals seeking shelter during this time.
