HANOVER SCHOOL DISTRICT 28

Last week, the state Board of Education approved the BEST grant recommended list containing 19 projects across the state to be funded.  Fortunately, PHE was one of those approved projects.  The Board of Education in applying due diligence to community concerns conducted a survey to understand community desires.  The community indicated the desire to continue with the BEST Grant renovation project with 73% responding we should move forward.  Subsequently, with those concerns reviewed,  the district is moving forward with the project.  The next steps are to sign a contract with the state grant office, conduct a search for the Owner’s Representative followed by a search for the General Contracting Officer.  

 

These appointees will work with the board to go through the design phase, select a construction company and break ground next summer.  These are exciting times with much to do.  Our intent is to remain as transparent as possible as we move through this process.  Look for updates here and on social media as we move forward.

 

Finally, there may be opportunities for other improvements with bond funds not used for the construction project.  We will seek feedback and input during the processes of identification and direction for these possibilities.
